Education, Income & Health

United Way of Ashland County is committed to build a healthier, more resilient community by promoting physical activity, access to healthy food, mindfulness and access to quality health care.

United Way of Ashland County works to make sure children and youth can start school ready to succeed, become proficient readers at a young age, stay on track in middle school, earn their high school diploma, trade or pursue a college degree.

United Way of Ashland County believes that by empowering residents to get on stable financial ground we must partner with organizations that focus expanding and building on financial health and wellness.

The result of these three focus areas is a thriving community, where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

We know…

A quality education is essential to obtaining and keeping a job with a livable wage.

An income adequate to pay for today’s necessities and save for the future will help families become financially stable.

Connecting to affordable health services and promoting healthy living keeps children on track in school and adults productive at work

That’s why we create strategic partnerships with organizations equipped to address complex issues and create sustainable change in our community. We support programs and initiatives that fall in one of the following three areas:

Promote readiness to learn
Support school success
Encourage positive youth development
Stabilize families in times of hardship
Increase access to financial literacy programs
Provide basic food & shelter in times of need/emergency
Provide access to healthcare
Promote healthy living
Violence and abuse prevention/healing
