United Way Ashland

Stacy Schiemann

Executive Director
  • I was born in DeKalb Illinois, then moved to Wickliffe Ohio, grew up in Streetsboro Ohio, and moved when I was a junior in high school to Ashland. Graduated from Ashland High School, Ashland University with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and from Regis University with a Master’s in Nonprofit Management. I started my career as a licensed social worker in the child welfare field specifically working in foster care, adoption and then for a very long time as the Chief Operating Officer and then Chief Program Officer at Providence House, a Crisis Nursery in Cleveland that works with families actively living in crisis situations placing their children at higher risk for abuse and neglect. Moved back to Ashland from Cleveland where I lived for 18 years in 2016 and became the Executive Director of United Way of Ashland County in January 2017.

I have 3 children, two girls and a boy and they are the lights and loves of my life. They are from oldest to youngest only 4 years apart, and we are in the thick of teenage to preteen stage. The beach (any beach) is our favorite place to go as a family.

  • What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

I love putting our donor dollars into action to create meaningful and sustainable change for Ashland County. I also love watching the Partner Agencies that we fund work together to create strong foundations for families in need. They really are the heart and soul of what we do, and they work so hard to get clients the support that they need.

  • Both, and we have two of each, just to make our household a little crazier than it already is. Dash, Lolli, Luna, and Rex.

  • If I were a superhero, my superpower would be teleportation. So many uses, and so helpful!

  • When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be a [JOB/PROFESSION] when I grew up.

I can’t tell you all that, it is the most embarrassing thing ever. Ask me in person and I will tell you and then we can laugh together. It is that good.

Jill Logan

Finance & Campaign Coordinator
  • I am originally from North Canton, Ohio and moved to Ashland in December of 2011, however I felt a part of this community since 1992 as my late husband, Jud Logan, was the Head Track and Field Coach at Ashland University. With a degree in Accounting, I am currently preparing for my 7th Campaign as the Campaign and Finance Coordinator, specializing in overseeing and implementation of accounting and finance responsibilities of the organization, along with assisting in preparation of campaign materials and direct mail campaigns.

Coming from the small town of North Canton and working many years in a family-owned sporting goods business, I realize the need to support the local community in which you live, and I am a current board member of The Logan Family Foundation, a family run non-profit foundation focusing on the power of “Paying It Forward”. I’ve had various accounting positions and found a love for non-profit work while working with Hospice of North Central Ohio, here in Ashland.

I have three grown children, a daughter in-law, and a son-in-law, and six grandchildren. My passion is watching them excel in each of their individual passions

  • What’s the most inspiring part of your job

I enjoy helping administratively, being the “wind beneath the wings” of the amazing and meaningful work of United Way’s Partner Agencies, resulting in helping thousands of people thrive in Ashland County.

  • I’ve always been a dog person, and at any given time, could have up to 6 family dogs staying at the house! I’m currently down to one dog, Dwight Tucker ~ a Bernese Mountain Dog – my faithful companion!

  • If I were a superhero, my superpower would be “Flight”, allowing me to travel to visit my family!

  • When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be a [JOB/PROFESSION] when I grew up.

When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be a veterinarian, but realized that I couldn’t see animals in distress. I would have been in it for the cuddles!

UWAC Board Members

Without the hard work and dedication of our board, United Way of Ashland County wouldn’t be able to make such a strong impact on our community. Thank you to this talented and ambitious group of people who help Ashland County thrive!
